Social media game strong

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference. My social media approach is informed by analytics and inspired by the people behind the projects. I’ve created custom social media strategies for companies like Shakespeare in the Ruff, Carlos Bulosan Theatre, and Compagnie Zuma Puma to market upcoming projects with style. I’m proficient in SquareSpace, Hootsuite, Canva, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook and am excited to make a social media strategy that works for your project and your budget.

From 2018-2021 I worked as the Online Content Producer for Generator, a mentoring, teaching, and innovation incubator for indie artists, producers and leaders. I managed Generator’s ArtistProducerResource.com website, ran Instagram and YouTube, led graphic design creation, and online fundraising efforts. Watch the video series I made with my coworker on Producing Social Media here.

We post a graphic promoting ArtistProducerResource to every two images of Generator in the community on our Instagram. This approach puts the people and programs that are central to Generator at the forefront.

Tales from the Flipside Festival featured 6 new plays by 6 Filipinx playwrights from cities across Canada over 3 days in February. I asked the playwrights for photos showing what being Filipinx-Canadian in winter meant to them. This gave me lots of exciting content that celebrated the diverse styles, people and genres covered during the three day festival.

I created a series of 10 Instagram graphics to accompany an open letter by a collective of UVic Phoenix Theatre IBPOC alumni and former students calling for changes to the university programming and organization structure delivered on July 27, 2020.

By asking the playwrights to describe their play in three words., I was able to capture the different voices and styles that would be showcased during Tales from the Flipside. The entire festival sold out.

I used colours loosely based on the UVic Phoenix Theatre logo, and simple fonts and design to easily communicate dense information. The seven page letter was simplified into 10 graphic slides.

This 10 graphic series was an easy and attractive way for us to get our seven page open letter seen by the general public. The graphics were widely distributed and led to an additional 200 signatures within the first 24 hours of sharing. Names continue to be added. Read it here.
